Calling All Storytellers!

The Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a freelance writer to help us shine a spotlight on our member businesses. These short business profiles (500 words or less) will tell the stories behind the storefronts, farms, offices, and shops that make Holdrege thrive.

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who can capture the voice of our community.

• A writer who enjoys talking with people and finding the heart of their story.

• An interviewer who can sit down with business owners during standard business hours (on-site preferred).

• A storyteller who can deliver a polished piece within two weeks of assignment.

The Details

• Each story: 500 words or less.

• At least two direct quotes included.

• One photo included (you can use our Chamber camera if needed).

• A pull quote for marketing use.

• Submission in Google Docs.

• Stories (and photos) will belong to the Chamber once published.

• Work is as needed, starting October 2025.

• Help Chamber members share their story.

• Contribute to the positive image of the Holdrege area.

• Play a direct role in how the Chamber highlights our members and our thriving community.

How to Apply

Send us:

• A short note telling us why you’d be a good fit.
• Two or more writing samples (business or feature style preferred).
• Your proposed rate per story.

Important Details

Preference will be given to Chamber members.
Proposals are due by September 30, 2025.

Selections will be finalized in late September, and assignments will begin in October 2025.
