The City of Holdrege is currently accepting applications for the position of Emergency Dispatcher I. This is a full-time position within the Holdrege Police Department serving the community by coordinating emergency and non-emergency response services. Position Summary: Emergency Dispatchers are responsible for receiving and dispatching law enforcement, fire, and medical calls. This position requires excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications • Must be 21 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent • Exceptional moral character • No felony, domestic assault, or serious misdemeanor convictions Essential Duties • Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel • Operate computers, telephones, and radio communications equipment • Maintain accurate written reports and documentation • Monitor and manage multiple communication systems simultaneously Compensation & Benefits • Salary Range: $21.57 – $26.02 per hour (commensurate with experience) • Full paid family health insurance provided by the City of Holdrege • Retirement plan 9% with 9% city match • Training provided • Full-time position with bid shifts • Rotating weekends and some holidays required • Night shift differential • Longevity pay and time off • Mental and Health wellness plans • Up to $4000 HSA deposit annually • Holiday pay • Uniforms and clothing provided • And many more benefits Application Information This position will remain open until it is filled.
