Emergency Dispatcher

The City of Holdrege is accepting applications for an Emergency Dispatcher. Applicants must be 19 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent and be of exceptional moral character with no felony, domestic assault or serious misdemeanor convictions. Emergency dispatch officers receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency law enforcement, fire and medical calls. The position requires excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, including operating computers, telephones and radio communications equipment, as well as maintaining various related written reports. This is a full-time position with a beginning salary of $21.15 - $25.51 per hour, commensurate with experience and includes paid training. Paid Benefits include vacation, sick leave, holidays, one hundred percent paid health insurance and an employer-matched retirement plan.
The Department now offers a hiring bonus of up to $3500 for Emergency Dispatchers, depending on qualifications. This includes $1500 for candidates with  little or no experience and up to $3500 for those with verifiable experience.
