The City of Holdrege is seeking an experienced emergency dispatcher who is ready to take the next step into leadership. The Assistant Emergency Dispatch Supervisor position offers a meaningful opportunity to begin developing supervisory skills while continuing to serve the residents, first responders, and visitors of our community. A sign-on bonus is available and dependent on experience.
About the Position: The Assistant Emergency Dispatch Supervisor plays a key role in the daily operation of the emergency communications center. This position works closely with the Emergency Dispatch Supervisor to help guide, support, and mentor dispatch staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism. Responsibilities include receiving and coordinating emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and medical services; supervising and evaluating staff; maintaining accurate records; and assisting with operational decision-making. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be at least 21 years of age
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Exceptional moral character
· No felony, domestic assault, or serious misdemeanor convictions
· Minimum of five (5) years of emergency dispatch experience
Schedule, Pay, and Benefits:
· Full-time position with bid shifts, rotating weekends, and some holidays
· Hourly wage range of $24.69–$30.59, commensurate with experience
· Paid family health insurance provided by the City of Holdrege or
· Annual HSA contribution of $2,000 for single coverage or $4,000 for family coverage
