The City of Holdrege is accepting applications for its Water/Sewer Mechanic position. Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent and legally authorized to work in the United States. Other qualifications include, but are not limited to, knowledge of or previous experience with the operation and/or construction of municipal water and wastewater systems. The successful applicant will possess a Grade 1 Wastewater Operator License and a Grade 4 Water License or obtain those licenses within the first year of employment through employer-provided training.
Candidates for this position should enjoy working on a variety of outdoor job assignments in all types of weather. A principled character and aptitude for maintaining productive working relationships with co-workers are a must.
This position includes a 40-hour workweek, with the possibility of overtime or call-out pay, and a beginning salary of $20.78 to $30.59 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, health insurance, life insurance and a retirement plan.
